Vertical Seclusion: The Best of Both Worlds
PalmSHIELD is excited to announce the launch their brand new vertical louver fence and screening system, Vertical Seclusion. Mechanical equipment enclosures and rooftop equipment often utilizes vertical louvers to match existing patterns and screening designs. PalmSHIELD recognizes that most buildings’ eaves and roof panels have a vertical alignment in panel ribbing and ridges. Where the louvered screening aligns closely to the roofing and eaves; designers want to continue its pattern for a consistent look.
Traditional single profile louvers do not provide the consistent screening necessary when they are installed vertically, creating a bit of a challenge for PalmSHIELD team. The louvered fence or screen would go from practically no visibility to complete visibility as you passed it from right to left. Traditional horizontal louver set-ups do not encounter this issue because the louvers are rotated to a specific angle that provides necessary screening at a standard line of sight.
The team at PalmSHIELD solved this problem by using a double profile vertical louver design. At any angle, this style has complete coverage but still manages to maintain good air flow. On request, the louvers may be adjusted to increase the flow of air and allow light to pass or establish some visibility.
The other challenge PalmSHIELD encountered with Vertical Seclusion’s design was the use of supporting braces. Since the louvers are placed vertically, the supporting braces would have had to be horizontal. A horizontal supporting brace design would have clashed with the overall vertical appeal. To solve this, PalmSHIELD chose a vertical louver with significant structural integrity to use on standard height panels.
